Just as the physical farmer who labors in the field must
be the FIRST partaker of his labor (Genesis 3:17-19), so must the spiritual farmer be the FIRSTpartaker of the spiritual harvest which results from
the sowing of the Word (II Timothy 2:6 cf. James 5:7-8)
A believer should be steadfast and unmoveable in this
chaotic world - ALWAYS abounding in the work of the Lord, because one's labor in the Lord is NOT in vain (I Corinthians 15:58)
for in due season one will be reaping the fruit of that labor (Galatians 6:9)
It is the Word of Truth as found
in the gospel which is able to bring forth fruit in the believer
(Colossians 1:5-6)
The fruit of the Spirit is manifested in the believer's
mental attitudes (Galatians 5:22-23) as one trusts in one's identification with Christ's work rather than
in one's own efforts (Galatians 5:1-6 cf. Romans 7:1-6)
The fruit of the Light is manifested in the believer's
life - thought, word, and deed (Ephesians 5:8-9) as one walks in the Lord's love whereby He loved us and is evidenced
by thanks-giving, i.e grace-receiving (Ephesians 5:1-4 cf. II Corinthians 5:14-15)
