Paul exhorts Timothy to avoidfoolish and unlearned questions, which tend to cause strife(II Timothy 2:23)
It is ONLY sound doctrine that is able to both exhort
and convince the gainsayers of their error (Titus 1:9); anything else will subvert the hearers (II Timothy 2:14)
False teachers of the Law motivated by money "subvert
whole houses" (Titus 1:10-11)
The Law is contrary to the sound doctrine of the gospel
(I Timothy 1:8-11) for it denies the righteousness we have through the blood and resurrection
of Christ (Romans 3:19-26;Romans 4:17-25)
Paul exhorts Timothy to instruct those
that "oppose themselves" with
meekness(II Timothy 2:24-25), because the instructor may also be tempted or tried (Galatians 6:1)
Paul sounds a tearful warning concerning those believers
who are "the enemies of the cross of Christ" due to their focus on earthly things rather than on their
heavenly citizenship (Philippians 3:17-21)
Paul considered himself crucified unto the world and the
world crucified unto him (Galatians 6:14) and exhorts believers to see themselves the SAME way (Colossians 3:1-4)
Paul exhorts Timothy to teachpatiently those that "oppose themselves" and are taken prisoner by the Adversary to do his will,
because it is God ALONE Who is able to grant them repentance to acknowledge the truth (II Timothy 2:24-26)
One minister waters and another one sows, but it is God
ALONE Who gives the increase (I Corinthians 3:5-7)
