At the CONCLUSION of MESSIAH'S "SAYINGS" - the
"PEOPLE (MULTITUDES)" were "ASTONISHED (AMAZED)" at His "DOCTRINE (TEACHING)" (Matthew 7:28 cf.Matthew 5:1-2), because He "TAUGHT them as One HAVING AUTHORITY" (Matthew 7:29)
As concerning this "PROPHET ... LIKE unto me (MOSES)"
(Deuteronomy 18:15), God said that I "will put MY WORDS into HIS MOUTH; and He shall
SPEAK unto them ALL that I COMMAND Him" (Deuteronomy 18:18)
The WORDS of THIS PROPHET will "FULFIL (FILL FULL)"
the WORDS of "the LAW and the PROPHETS" (Matthew 5:17) - that "which WAS SAID by them of OLD TIME (MOSES)" (Matthew 5:21,27,33)
and again, that which "HATH BEEN SAID (MOSES)" (Matthew 5:31,38,43)
Thus, MESSIAH TESTIFIED that "MY DOCTRINE (TEACHING)
is NOT MINE, BUT HIS that sent Me" (John 7:16)
The UNIQUE PHRASE, "THUS SAITH THE LORD" occurs
OVER 400 TIMES in the OT and CONFIRMS what is said in the NT concerning the DIVINE SOURCE of the "SURE WORD
of PROPHECY" (II Peter 1:19-21 cf.Daniel 2:28,30,45)
It is "the GOSPEL of CHRIST" that is "the
POWER of GOD unto SALVATION" (Romans 1:16)
The Teaching of the Scribes - Without Authority(Matthew 7:29)
The TEACHING of the SCRIBES was that of ADDED HUMAN TRADITION,
which NULLIFIED the GIVEN COMMANDMENTS of GOD and, thus, LACKED DIVINE AUTHORITY (Matthew 15:1-9;Mark 7:1-13)
Under the GENTILE "DISPENSATION of the GRACE of GOD"
(Ephesians 3:1-2):
The PREACHING must contain NO WORKS (e.g. BAPTISM) and
NO "WISDOM of WORDS, LEST the CROSS of CHRIST should be made of NONE EFFECT" (I Corinthians 1:17)
It is "the PREACHING of the CROSS" ALONE that
is "the POWER of GOD" (I Corinthians 1:18)
