Paul THANKED God in his PRAYERS for Philemon's LOVE and
FAITH in reference to the LORD JESUS and ALL THE SAINTS (Philemon 4-5)
In writing to the Ephesians, Paul was careful in how referenced
their FAITH and LOVE with respect to the LORD JESUS and ALL THE SAINTS - "FAITH IN THE LORD JESUS, and LOVE
UNTO ALL THE SAINTS" (Ephesians 1:15-16)
Paul PRAYED that the "COMMUNICATION (SHARING)"
of Philemon's FAITH would be made "EFFECTUAL (EFFECTIVE)" by his audience being able to acknowledge "EVERY
GOOD THING" due to THE INDWELLING CHRIST within Philemon (Philemon 6)
PAUL is GOD'S SALVATION PATTERN (I Timothy 1:15-16)
for this GENTILE "DISPENSATION OF GRACE" (Ephesians 3:1-2), i.e. "THE MYSTERY ... HID ... but NOW is MADE MANIFEST (REVEALED)"
and "to whom God would MAKE KNOWN what is THE RICHES OF THE GLORY of THIS MYSTERY among THE GENTILES; which
is CHRIST IN YOU, THE HOPE OF GLORY" (Colossians 1:26-27)
Philemon was a source of "GREAT JOY and CONSOLATION"
to Paul, because Philemon expressed his LOVE FOR THE SAINTS by REFRESHING THEIR "BOWELS (AFFECTIONS)"
(Philemon 7)
Paul longed for that SAME JOY and CONSOLATION to be fulfilled
in the Philippians by their being "LIKEMINDED" (Philippians 2:1-2) toward one another in "LOWLINESS OF MIND" (Philippians 2:3-4)
by having the MIND that "was also in CHRIST JESUS" (Philippians 2:5-8), i.e. "the GRACE of our LORD JESUS CHRIST" (II Corinthians 8:9)
