POSITIONALLY we are SEATED with Christ "in the heavenlies"
(Ephesians 2:6) and through Christ we EXPERIENTIALLY have ACCESS to God via His Spirit
(Ephesians 2:18)
Experience - Rejoicing in hope of the glory of God(5:2)
Man, because of SIN, comes "SHORT OF THE GLORY"
of God (3:23)
and is AFRAID OF THE GLORY of God (Luke 2:9), just as Adam and Eve who "HID THEMSELVES FROM THE PRESENCE of
the Lord God" (Genesis 3:8) - AFTER HAVING SINNED (Genesis 3:6-7,9-13)
It is ONLY WHEN GOD SHINES the LIGHT of His GLORY (CHRIST)
INTO the SINNER'S HEART (II Corinthians 4:6) - that THEN CAN the SINNER LOOK UNTO the "BLESSED HOPE" of
the SAVIOR'S "GLORIOUS APPEARING" (Titus 2:13)
God sees HIS ELECT as ALREADY GLORIFIED, as well as JUSTIFIED
(Romans 8:30) - for CHRIST, "the HOPE OF GLORY", PRESENTLY DWELLS WITHIN
each one of them (Colossians 1:27)
Experience - Rejoicing in tribulations also(5:3-4)
TRIBULATION is what provides the TESTING of our FAITH,
which results in the FRUIT of PATIENCE (5:3
cf. James 1:3)
PATIENCE builds EXPERIENCE (5:4)
from which comes WISDOM (James 1:4-5)
Our present MOMENTARY AFFLICTION is indeed "LIGHT"
in comparison to the future "MORE EXCEEDING and ETERNAL WEIGHT of GLORY", IF we FOCUS ON the UNSEEN THINGS
which are ETERNAL (II Corinthians 4:17-18) and which we share as "JOINT-HEIRS WITH CHRIST" (8:17-18)
"FAITH is the substance of THINGS HOPED FOR, the
evidence of THINGS NOT SEEN" (Hebrews 11:1) and PATIENTLY WAITS FOR the UNSEEN THINGS TO BE SEEN (8:24-25)
Our HOPE IN CHRIST makes us not ashamed, because we do
not look within to see ourselves, but to see the LOVE OF GOD (II Thessalonians 3:5) which is produced by His Spirit within us (15:13)
It is through TRIBULATION that God PROVES to us that we
are "MORE THAN CONQUERORS" THROUGHT CHRIST Who loved us and PERSUADES us that we CANNOT BE SEPARATED
FROM HIS LOVE (8:35-39)
GOD'S LOVE - demonstrated in CHRIST'S DEATH FOR SINNERS
(5:8):
"By ONE MAN SIN ENTERED into the world, AND DEATH
BY SIN" and, thus, "ALL HAVE SINNED" (5:12)
CHRIST'S DEATH was the PAYMENT FOR OUR SINS and CHRIST'S
RESURRECTION was the VALIDATION OF that PAYMENT (4:25),
so that the BELIEVER could be PRONOUNCED JUSTIFIED (5:1)
"For the WAGES OF SIN is DEATH, but the GIFT OF GOD
is ETERNAL LIFE THROUGH CHRIST JESUS our Lord" (6:23)
Result - the Deliverancefrom
the Wrath to Come(5:9)
Now that we have been "JUSTIFIED BY FAITH IN HIS
BLOOD" (5:9
cf. 3:24-26),
we are assured that we will be "SAVED FROM THE WRATH TO COME" (5:9
cf. I Thessalonians 1:10):
Result - the Reconciliationof
Divine Enemies (5:10)
IF we as HIS ENEMIES have been "RECONCILED TO GOD
BY THE DEATH OF HIS SON" (5:10
cf. Colossians 1:21-22)
THEN how much more so shall we be "SAVED BY HIS LIFE" (5:10
cf. Galatians 2:20):
Our "BAPTISM INTO HIS DEATH" (6:3)
makes it possible for us to "WALK IN NEWNESS OF LIFE" (6:4)
"PUTTING OFF" the "OLD MAN (ADAM)"
(Ephesians 4:22) and "PUTTING ON" the "NEW MAN (CHRIST)" (Ephesians 4:24)
is done by TRUSTING IN our IDENTIFICATION WITH CHRIST (6:6,9,11)
Result - the Enjoyment of God through Christ (5:11)
Therefore, we "JOY (REJOICE) IN GOD THROUGH OUR LORD
JESUS CHRIST" (5:11
cf. 5:1-2):
