The following EXHORTATIONS have in view the believer's
provision of "ALL things HONEST (GOOD) in the sight of ALL men" (Romans 12:17 cf.II Corinthians 13:7)
Being "OBEDIENT unto their own masters" (Titus 2:9)
for ALL SERVICE performed by the believer is ultimately UNTO THE LORD, Who is THE TRUE REWARDER (Ephesians 6:7-8 cf.Colossians 3:23-24)
"PLEASING them WELL in ALL things" (Titus 2:9),
i.e. "NOT with EYESERVICE as men pleasers, BUT as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the HEART"
(Ephesians 6:6 cf.Colossians 3:22)
in "FEAR and TREMBLING" (Ephesians 6:5 cf.I Corinthians 2:3):
NOTE the Lord's words to PAUL, "MY GRACE is SUFFICIENT for thee, for MY STRENGTH is made perfect (complete)
in weakness" (II Corinthians 12:9) and He is "able to make ALL GRACE ABOUND TO YOU" (II Corinthians 9:8)
so that "ye ... MAY ABOUND TO EVERY GOOD WORK" (II Corinthians 9:8)
"NOT ANSWERING AGAIN" (Titus 2:9),
i.e. "NOT SPEAKING AGAINST (GAINSAYING)" (Titus 1:9)
The believer is EXHORTED to "DO ALL things WITHOUT
MURMURINGS and DISPUTINGS" (Philippians 2:14)
To do otherwise, is to deny that "I can DO ALL things
THROUGH CHRIST which STRENGTHENETH me" (Philippians 4:13)
Note Israel's MURMURING because of their UNBELIEF (Psalms 106:24-25)
and, thereby, "LIMITED the Holy One of Israel" (Psalms 78:40-42), so that the Lord "DID NOT many mighty works ... because of their
UNBELIEF" (Matthew 13:57-58)
"NOT PURLOINING, BUT SHOWING ALL GOOD FIDELITY (Titus 2:10),
i.e. "NOT STEALING, BUT DEMONSTRATING UPRIGHT (HONEST) FAITHFULNESS" (Ephesians 4:28 cf.Romans 12:17)
NEGATIVELY NOT following the example of Ananias and Sapphira
(Acts 5:1-3,7-9)
BUT POSITIVELY following the example of Paul (Philemon 10-14)
It is the Lord's desire that His people would "ADORN
the DOCTRINE of God our Savior in ALL THINGS" (Titus 2:10), because the SALVATION message of "the GRACE of God ... hath appeared
to ALL men" (Titus 2:11 cf.II Timothy 4:17)
TRUE beauty and TRUE value is that of the "INNER
MAN" and NOT that of the "OUTER MAN" (I Peter 3:1-4 cf.I Timothy 2:9-10)
The "TUNE" of a believer's life is what attracts
an empty heart to the "WORDS" of the believer's faith (II Corinthians 3:1-3) and is what honors "God our Savior" (Titus 1:3),
"Who will (desires) ALL men to be saved" (I Timothy 2:4)
How much then should "ESPECIALLY those that BELIEVE"
(I Timothy 4:10) who have tasted of "the LOVE of Christ" be motivated to
"NOT henceforth live unto THEMSELVES, BUT unto HIM that died for them" (II Corinthians 5:14-15 cf.Galatians 2:20)
