"Enemies of the Cross of Christ" (Philippians 3:18)

• Avoiding - Negative Examples (Philippians 3:18-19):
  • BELIEVERS who "OPPOSE THEMSELVES" (II Timothy 2:25) and, therefore, Paul says WEEPINGLY of them - "they are the ENEMIES of the CROSS of CHRIST" (Philippians 3:18):
    • For they are in "the SNARE of the DEVIL" having been "TAKEN CAPTIVE BY HIM TO DO HIS WILL" (II Timothy 2:26)
    • Their "END is DESTRUCTION (WASTE)" (Philippians 3:19) at "the JUDGMENT SEAT of CHRIST" (II Corinthians 5:10)
    • For "EVERY MAN'S WORK shall be MADE MANIFEST ... because it shall be REVEALED BY FIRE ... of WHAT SORT it is (I Corinthians 3:13)
    • However, "IF ANY MAN'S WORK shall be BURNED" - "HE shall SUFFER LOSS: BUT HE HIMSELF shall be SAVED, YET SO as BY FIRE" (I Corinthians 3:15)
  • Paul BESEECHES (BEGS) BELIEVERS to "MARK ... and AVOID them" which "CAUSE DIVISIONS and OFFENCES (STUMBLINGS) CONTRARY TO the DOCTRINE which ye have LEARNED" (Romans 16:17):
    • "For they that are SUCH, SERVE NOT the LORD JESUS CHRIST, BUT THEIR OWN BELLY" (Romans 16:18)
  • The DOCTRINE of "the PREACHING of the CROSS" (I Corinthians 1:18):
    • NO PREACHING of HUMAN WORKS, e.g. WATER BAPTISM (I Corinthians 1:17), i.e. NO PREACHING of the KINGDOM LAW (Matthew 28:19-20 cf. Isaiah 2:2-3)
    • NO PREACHING of HUMAN WORDS, e.g. NO PREACHING of the "WORDS of MAN'S WISDOM" (I Corinthians 2:4-5)
    • Paul's SOLE TESTIMONY - "I am CRUCFIED WITH CHRIST: nevertheless I live, yet not I, but CHRIST LIVETH IN ME" (Galatians 2:20)
    • Paul's SOLE GLORY - "The CROSS of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, by Whom THE WORLD is CRUCIFIED TO ME, and I UNTO THE WORLD" (Galatians 6:14)
