Under the dispensation of grace(Ephesians 3:2) it is a goal for the believers to be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18)
Paul exhorts the believers at Corinth to "speak the
same thing" and be "joined together in the same mind and in the same judgement" (I Corinthians 1:10)
Paul exhorts the believers at Philippi to "be of
one accord, of one mind" (Philippians 2:2)
The filling of the Spirit is a gradual filling likened
to wine - the only difference being that with wine there is the danger of excess (drunkenness), but not so with
the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18)
How is the filling manifested?
At Pentecost the
filling of the Spirit was visibly manifested (Mark 16:20) through the working of signs and wonders (Acts 1:8 cf. Acts 6:5,8)
Under the dispensation of grace(Ephesians 3:2) the filling of the Spirit is invisibly manifested (II Corinthians 5:7)
in the believer's spirit and is characterized by wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ (Ephesians 1:17)
