"... when she saw him that he was a goodly child
..." (Exodus 2:2)
By faithMoses "refused" the royal adoption
offered by Pharaoh's daughter (Hebrews 11:24), as also His Lord "refused" Satan's offer of all the kingdoms
of the world, according to the Word of God, "it is written" (Luke 4:5-8)
By faithMoses esteemed "... the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures
in Egypt", because "he had respect unto the recompense of the reward" (Hebrews 11:26)
Moses exhibited the same testimony as Paul did in reckoning
"... that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed
in us" (Romans 8:18),
because "... our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal
weight of glory" (II Corinthians 4:17)
The "tribulation" will be the "fiery trial",
which will prove the faith of the Jewish remnant as "being much more precious than of gold" (I Peter 1:7; I Peter 4:12 cf. Zechariah 13:9)
The faithful Jews who fear the Lord in the Day of the
Lord are spoken of as "His jewels" (Malachi 3:16-17) and will be healed rather than consumed by the "Sun of Righteousness"
(Malachi 4:1-2)
The faithful Jewish "tribulation" remnant are
said to be "rich" (Revelation 2:9-10) concerning the "crown of life", while the others are warned
about being falsely "rich" and counseled to become truly "rich" (Revelation 3:17-18)
At His coming, His reward is with Him (Revelation 22:12)
and will be given to His "servants, prophets and saints" (Revelation 11:18)
It is for the encouragement of the faithful Hebrew remnant
in their enduring "reproaches" and "afflictions" (Hebrews 10:32-33) that the "great cloud of witnesses" of Hebrews 11 (Hebrews 12:1 cf. Hebrews 11:13)
are presented as examples of the patience of faith that "receive the promise", "the great recompense
of the reward" (Hebrews 10:35-36 cf. Hebrews 11:13)
