Quenched the Violence of Fire(Hebrews 11:34)
- Shadrach, Meschach, Abednigo(Daniel 3)
Nebuchadnezzar is a type of the lawless Tribulation Antichrist
in his demand of Divine worship (Daniel 3:1-7)
Nebuchadnezzar sets up an "image of gold"
(Daniel 3:1) to reflect his position as the "head of gold" (Daniel 2:38) and as a "king of kings" (Daniel 2:37) and demanded worship consistent with that position (Daniel 3:4-5)
The False Prophet commands "that they should make
an image to the beast" and "as many as that would not worship the image of the beast should be killed"
(Revelation 13:14-15)
Nebuchadnezzar is a type of the lawless Tribulation
Antichrist in his furious persecution of the Lord's people (Daniel 3:8-15,19-23)
The Lord God, Jehovah, calls Nebuchadnezzar, "My
Servant" (Jeremiah 25:9) and calls the Antichrist,
"the Rod of Mine Anger" (Isaiah 10:5) and uses them as tools of His judgment on idolatrous Israel (Isaiah 10:6-7)
Nebuchadnezzar in "his rage and fury" (Daniel 3:13) commanded the Lord's faithful servants to be placed in a "burning
fiery furnace" (Daniel 3:11,15,20-21,23) that was "exceeding hot" (Daniel 3:22) and "seven times more than when it was wont to be heated"
(Daniel 3:19)
Shadrach, Meschach, and Abednigo are a type of the faithful
Tribulation overcomers in their patience and ultimate sacrifice for their faith (Daniel 3:16-18)
They answer their adversary in the same patience of
faith as will the faithful Tribulation overcomers
"We are not careful (needful) to answer thee in
this matter" (Daniel 3:16)
"Settle it therefore in your hearts ... For I
will give you a mouth and wisdom" (Luke 21:14-15) and "In your patience possess ye your souls" (Luke 21:19)
They are prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice of
faith as will the faithful Tribulation overcomers
"If it be so ... He will deliver ... But if not
... we will not serve ... nor worship" (Daniel 3:17-18)
Shadrach, Meschach, and Abednigo are a type of the faithful
Tribulation overcomers in their victory as overcomers through the True Christ (Daniel 3:24-27)
"Three men bound", but "four men loose"
and "they have no hurt" and "the fourth is like the Son of God" and "upon whose bodies
the fire had no power" (Daniel 3:24-25,27)
"They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb"
(Revelation 12:11) and "had gotten the
victory over the beast, and over his image,
and over his mark, and over the number of his name" (Revelation 15:2)
Shadrach, Meschach, and Abednigo are a type of the faithful
Tribulation overcomers in their vindication and exaltation over their enemies (Daniel 3:28-30)
They were vindicated as Nebuchadnezzar confessed, "There
is no other God that can deliver after this sort" (Daniel 3:29)
God's two faithful witnesses were vindicated via resurrection
and ascension:
After their resurrection, "great fear fell upon
them which saw them" (Revelation 11:11)
At their ascension, "their enemies beheld them"
(Revelation 11:12)
Nebuchadnezzar "promoted" them "in the
province of Babylon" (Daniel 3:30)
"The souls of them that were beheaded for Jesus
... lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years" (Revelation 20:4)
