Resurrection Life - New
Covenant theme(John 11:25-26)
The ministry of the New Covenant is the Spirit's ministry
of life (II Corinthians 3:6) as opposed to the Law's ministry of death (II Corinthians 3:7)
Those who belong to Christ experience His resurrection
life through His Spirit (Romans 8:9-13), the law which frees (liberates) them from the law of sin and death
(Romans 8:2
cf.II Corinthians 3:17)
The New Covenant is also the Spirit's ministry of righteousness
as opposed to the Law's ministry of condemnation (II Corinthians 3:9)
There is no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus
(Romans 8:1)
and who by the Spirit have the power to fulfill the righteousness of the Law (Romans 8:4)
Israel will know the Lord as their righteousness in His
kingdom, David's righteous Branch (Jeremiah 23:5-6)
Grace and truth as represented by Jesus Christ (John 1:17)
does not imply that David was wrong when he referred to the Mosaic Law as the Truth (Psalms 119:142)
The Greek figure of speech, Hendiadys ("one by means
of two"), means that one subject (grace) is being considered via two descriptive terms as indicated by the
phrase, "grace for (instead of) grace" (John 1:16)
The contrast is between the typical grace of the Mosaic
Law (Hebrews 10:1-4) and the true grace of the New Covenant (Hebrews 9:12,15,22-24), which is the same grace that Paul sets forth as the complete basis
for redemption and the sole means of justification now (Romans 3:24-26)
Redemption through His blood is according to the wealth
of His grace (Ephesians 1:7) is one of our spiritual blessings in the heavenlies (Ephesians 1:3))
Our seated position with Christ in the heavenlies (Ephesians 2:6))
is where God will manifest the surpassing wealth of His grace toward us through Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:7)
The physical relationship of Eve to Adam is used as the
example to describe the physical relationship of the Mystery Church to Christ (Ephesians 5:30-32 cf.Genesis 2:23-24)
